"Found what I needed super quick??"
The site was really easy to use, and I found the books I was looking for way faster than I expected?? Super simple and no hassle...
"I signed up for my NYPL library card..."
I signed up for my NYPL library card online it was way easier than I expected. I didn’t run into any annoying issues with the form, and the confirmation email showed up almost immediately. I was mostly just happy I could get access right away without having to make a trip in person first.
"Good library, but my first visit was frustrating"
NYPL Shop seems like a nice place to study, but my first impression wasn’t great because I walked in expecting to get some work done and there were basically no seats. Some branches are quiet and useful once you actually find a spot, but the tables fill up super fast, especially after school or on weekends. I really wish the website made it easier to check study space availability before making the trip. It’s not bad overall, just kind of hit or miss.

"Super handy for ebooks, and audiobooks"
I use nypl.org often for ebooks, and audiobooks, and it’s been really convenient. Borrowing stuff is simple enough, and most of the time, I can find something good to read or listen to. It’s just a really handy service to have.

"I can usually find something to borrow"
I’m on NYPL Shop often, usually to look up books or ebooks before I head over, or sometimes after I thought I already checked... I lose track. Their collection is surprisingly good, even for older books or random topics I suddenly get curious about. Popular titles can have a wait, which I guess is expected, but I like that it shows what’s available and which branch has it. It just makes borrowing a lot easier for me.

"The programs themselves are actually pretty..."
The programs themselves are actually good, but booking is such a pain because spots fill up almost immediately. I kind of regret signing up, since I didn’t realize how annoying it would be just to get into the events I wanted

"Holds are okay, but the process feels a little frustrating"
I mostly use nypl.org to place holds and check out ebooks. For the most part it gets the job done, but it can feel kind of annoying sometimes. The hold list is confusing, and I’ve had books show as available only to still make me wait, which makes me feel like the system isn’t really paying attention to what I’m trying to do. Checkout usually works, but on mobile it feels clunky and a bit like you’re on your own figuring it out. It’s not terrible, but I wish it felt smoother and less like my issues are being ignored.

"Staff actually made it easy"
I was having a surprisingly hard time finding what I needed on nypl.org, which isn’t the most intuitive site ever. The staff helped me quickly, though, and were patient and nice even when I was asking really basic questions. They made the whole thing much less confusing than I expected

"branch could've been cleaner"
i stopped in and the place just felt a little grimy. the desks were sticky, and the bathroom really needed some attention. the staff was okay though, so it wasn’t all bad.

"Surprisingly painless for managing my library stuff"
I mostly use nypl.org to check my account and renew books, it does what it’s supposed to do without making my life harder, which is always nice. It works fine on my phone too, because apparently that’s not always a given these days. If it saves me a trip to the library or a late fee, I’m not going to complain.
